14 Juillet

This year we went all out for Bastille Day. We actually woke up early enough to go to the parade on the Champs-Elysées (J's friend was marching so we had a good reason to be there), and we decided watch the fireworks from the Champs de Mars instead of Place du Trocadero like we did last year. We camped out on the grass at around 5 PM and listened to two free concerts: Christophe Mae and Johnny Hallyday, then stuck around for the light show/fireworks display on the Eiffel Tower. It did not dissapoint! To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, they changed the lighting and music according to past years. For example they flashed 1968 on the tower and then colorful flower power lights while playing hippie music. So cool!
